Location:

Bearskin Lake is a remote First Nations Community located 400 air miles North of Thunder Bay.   

Three settlements make up the Bearskin Lake First Nation. The main village of Bearskin is situated on the west shore of Lake Michikan and all three communities are tied to one another by all weather gravel roads.

There are five hundred and seventy-five (575) registered Band Members. At this time, there are four hundred and thirty-six (436) residents in Bearskin Lake.

 
 
 
 
Access / Airports / Transportation:
This isolated remote Northwestern Ontario community is accessible only by air or ice road. During the coldest months the road extends from Windigo Lake north through Muskrat Dam.  However the most practical transportation is via scheduled or charter flights available from Thunder Bay, Pickle Lake or Sioux Lookout.  Click the Flights link above for complete flight details, schedules and fares.
