Deer Lake is a remote First Nations community located north of Red Lake Ontario.  The only access to this isolated community is by air, although seasonal ice roads allow access during the coldest months of the year.  The principal occupations for the residents of Deer Lake consist of trapping, fishing and forestry.  Local industry include sawmill, fishing camp, general store and tourist camps.  There are hundreds of remote lakes and rivers in the area that offer exceptional fishing and area outfitters can provide you with access.
