Hornepayne is a small Northern Ontario community located 400 km northwest of Sault Ste Marie on secondary hwy 631 which runs north of White River to Hwy 11 just west of Hearst.  Visitors to can drive Hwy 631north of White River to Hornepayne and experience the rugged beauty of Northern Ontario's heartland known for its bountiful population of moose, deer, bear, and wide variety of game fish.   Fishermen visiting the area will be thrilled with the exceptional fishing for Walleyes, Northerns, and various species of trout.

If you are a serious canoeist or rafter Hornepayne offers 2 major river systems that are not only a breathtaking white water experience but are home to some of the best speckled trout fishing south of James Bay.

For the winter visitor to the area, Snowmobiling is the number one tourist attraction. Hornepayne is the junction for 3 major Trans-Ontario snowmobile trails, with connections south to Wawa and Sault Ste. Marie, east to Hearst and Cochrane and west to Manitouwadge and Thunder Bay.
