About Lansdowne House

 
Location:
Lansdowne House which is also known as Neskantaga is an isolated First Nation's community located in Northwestern Ontario 270 air miles north of Thunder Bay and 110 air miles north east of Pickle Lake.
 
Access / Airports / Transportation:
The primary access to Lansdowne House is via scheduled airline service operated by Wasaya Airways.  Service is available from Thunder Bay, Sioux Lookout and Pickle Lake.  There are no permanent roads to Lansdowne House, however a temporary ice road is maintained for 2 - 3 months of the year and used to transport bulk fuel, building supplies and other bulk freight and goods.
 
Accommodations / Services / Attractions / Events:
There is no motel accommodations available in Lansdowne House, however there are several outpost camps and lodges in the general area which cater to sportsmen looking to fish the remote wilderness areas surrounding the Albany and Ogoki river systems.  See above Fishing links for contact information.
