About Poplar Hill

 
Location:
Poplar Hill is an isolated First Nation's community located in Northwestern Ontario about 75 air miles north of Red Lake.
 
Access / Airports / Transportation:
The only access to Poplar Hill is via air.  Wasaya Airways provides regular scheduled flights to Poplar Hill with departures from Red Lake, Sioux Lookout and Thunder Bay.  You cannot drive to Poplar Hill, however there is a temporary winter road that is maintained 2 - 3 months of the year which is used to transport bulk freight and fuel.
 
Accommodations / Services / Attractions / Events:
There are no motels in Poplar Hill and if you plan to visit the area, you should contact the Band Office to determine if any overnight accommodations can be arranged.  If you are interested in fishing, hunting or exploring the region surrounding Poplar Hill, there are remote lodges and outpost camps which cater to sportsmen and outdoor enthusiasts.  See our Fishing Link for a listing of outfitters in the area.  Packages would originate from Red Lake.
