About Summer Beaver

 
Location:
Summer Beaver is an isolated First Nation's community located in northwestern Ontario just over 100 air miles north of Pickle Lake and about 300 air miles north of Thunder Bay.
 
Access / Airports / Transportation:
The primary access to Summer Beaver is by air and Wasaya Airways provides regular scheduled flights to Summer Beaver from Sioux Lookout, Pickle Lake and Thunder Bay.  If flight schedules do not meet your timetable, charter flights can also be arranged from Pickle Lake as well as numerous other centers in North Western Ontario.  There are no roads to Summer Beaver other than a temporary ice road that is maintained for two to three months of the year and is used to transport bulk fuel and freight.
 
Accommodations / Services / Attractions / Events:
There are no motels in Summer Beaver and visitors to the area should contact the Band office to determine if any overnight accommodations can be arranged prior to traveling to the community.  There are accommodations in Pickle Lake should visitors want to fly in and out of the community on the same day.  Remote fishing lodges and outpost camps are located in the regions surrounding this community and cater to sportsmen looking for a unique wilderness and fishing experience.  Click our fishing links to view a complete list of outfitters available.
