About Webequie

 
Location:
The remote First Nations Community of of Webequie  is located in North Western Ontario 160 air miles north of Pickle Lake and 330 air miles north of Thunder Bay.
 
Access / Airports / Transportation:
The primary access to Webequie is via air and Wasaya Airways provides scheduled service into Webequie from Sioux Lookout, Pickle Lake and Thunder Bay.  There are no roads to Webequie, other than a temporary winter road which is maintained 2 - 3 months of the year and used to transport bulk fuel and freight.  If scheduled flights to Webequie do not meet your timetable, you can book private charter flights from Pickle Lake which is the closest road access community.
 
Accommodations / Services / Attractions / Events:
There are no motels listed for Webequie and visitors to the area should contact the Band office prior to making travel plans to determine if overnight accommodations can be arranged.  Webequie does however support a thriving tourism industry in the form of lodges and outpost camps located throughout the region.  If you would like to spend 5 - 7 days in a remote wilderness setting fishing for Walleyes, Northerns and Speckled Trout, check out our Fishing link for a complete listing of outfitters in the Webequie region.
