About Wunnumin Lake

 
Location:
The remote First Nations Community of of Wunnumin Lake is located in North Western Ontario 110 air miles north of Pickle Lake and 312 air miles north of Thunder Bay.
 
Access / Airports / Transportation:
The primary access to Wunnumin Lake is via air which is provided by Wasaya Airways with departures from Sioux Lookout, Pickle Lake and Thunder Bay.  There are no permanent roads leading to Wunnumin Lake, however a temporary winter road is maintained 2 - 3 months of the year which is used to transport bulk fuel and freight.
 
Accommodations / Services / Attractions / Events:
There are no motels in Wunnumin Lake and visitors who plan to visit the area should contact the Band office prior to travel to determine if overnight accommodations can be arranged.  As an alternative, visitors may need to book accommodations in Pickle lake and fly in and out on the same day.  If you would like to spend 5 - 7 days in the region experiencing the area's exceptional wilderness fishing, you should view our Fishing link above for a complete list of area outfitters who operate outpost camps in the Wunnumin Lake area.
